Various doctors report that stress has become a root cause for making people sleep deprived. Dr. Andrew has studied meditation and breathing, and suggests that breathing can be used to counteract stress.
What really is this 4-7-8 breathing method? “You breathe in through your nose for four seconds, hold it for seven seconds, and exhale through your mouth for eight seconds.” The doctor explains it to a friend. This technique slows down one’s heart rate and releases chemicals in the brain which relaxes the mind.
